Today, as part of my on-the-spot assessment of the gully erosions ravaging the people of Auchi, Afashio, south Ibie and Ayogwiri communities in Etsako West Local government Area, I have a stopover at the palace Of the Otaru of Auchi kingdom and the Ogieneni of Uzairue to thank the palaces for their support during the last general election which saw me to the green chamber of the National Assembly.
During the thank you visit to the palaces, I assured them of my commitment to fulfilling all my election promises as I have fulfilled some of my electioneering campaign promises.
I used the opportunity to inform the palace that I have commenced the distribution of 500,000 exercise books in Edo state among many other things we have done.
The reason I am in politics is to serve the people and by the special grace of God, I’m working closely with my leader comrade Senator Adams Oshiomhole to make sure that all erosion gullies menace in my constituency are permanently solved.
Today’s on-the-spot assessment has given me a clearer picture of the gravity of the natural disaster. Houses in that area collapsed and many are in danger as some businesses in that area are permanently destroyed.
The National Emergency Management Agency and the Ecological Fund office need to swing into action, that we are advocating through the instrument of the National Assembly.
I sympathize with all the victims of the gullies and we are doing everything possible to arrest the situation through the instrument of the National Assembly.
